Ban Ki-moon calls for immediate handing of power in Libya to GNA

The UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon has applauded the efforts done by the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord in leading the Democratic transition in Libya, saying that the UN is looking forward to seeing Libya in peace, security and stability.

In a meeting Monday with the Deputy President of the GNA, Mousa Al-Kouni, Ki-moon confirmed UN support for the GNA’s courageous leadership conduct, pushing for installing the GNA in Tripoli I’m no time.

He also urged the hindering parties who oppose the GNA’s entry to Tripoli to cooperate in handing over the power immediately and peacefully.

He concluded by expressing grave concern about the humanitarian situation in Libya and the growing presence of the ISIS militants’ presence in the country, as well as the illegal immigration issue which burdens most of Europe.
