Eastern Justice Ministry orders immediate release of Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi

The deputy justice minister of the eastern government of Abdullah Al-Thinni, Eissa Al-Saghir, said an immediate release of Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi must take an effect by force of the law.

Al-Saghir urged Zintan-based Abu Bakir Al-Saddiq Brigade, which is protecting Moamar Gaddafi’s son to let him go, adding that the brigade is now keeping him safe in a secure place.

“As per the amnesty No.06 for 2015, Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi must be released and allowed his complete freedom and civilian rights.” The deputy minister explained.

He said the eastern justice ministry sent Zintan rehabilitation center, which supervising prisons, a letter demanding applying the amnesty order and releasing Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi.

“Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi should be allowed to move around in Libya and even travel abroad.” The eastern deputy minister explained.

Said Al-Islam Gaddafi has been detained in Zintan since he was capture late in 2011 and he has been a subject of great controversy in and out of Libya as to when he is going to be tried for his involvement in cracking down Libya’s February revolution.
