The Iranian Ambassador to Libya, Hussein Akbari, has disclosed that his country has not recognised the Government of National Accord yet.

Speaking to Iranian Fars News Agency, Akbari said that Tehran had decided to delay its recognition of the GNA as Libya’s sole legitimate government until it gets the vote of confidence from the Tobruk-based House of Representatives.

“The biggest part of Libya’s crisis lies in foreign intervention. It is even more dangerous than the threat of IS radicals.” The Iranian Ambassador added.

He also said that any change in the conflicts that are going on in Iraq and Syria will definitely influence the situation in Libya.
