Kobler: Libyan coastguards rescued 808 migrants off the coast last January

The Head of the UNSMIL Martin Konbler has said in a tweet that the Libyan coastguards have rescued 808 migrants so far this year from off the Libyan coast.

Tweeting the incident, Kobler attached an infographic photo illustrating the regions where the rescue operations took place.

Meanwhile, the Libyan coastguards continue to train on the sea operations y the programme set up y Operation Sophia of the EU.

A second batch of the Libyan coastguards started training a couple of days earlier with the aim of raising the skills of the Libyan Navy in all issues relayed to dealing with the flow of migrants.
