Libya qualifies to African Nations Volleyball Championship;s quarterfinals

Although Libya lost their second match to finish with two wins and a loss, they secured a quarter-final ticket as they finished second owing to their superior set ratio of 7-8 against 5-6.

Libya lost to Kenya in thrilling 3-2 sets victory of their last Pool ‘B’ match on Tuesday, yet reached the quarter-finals of men’s African Nations Championship at the Cairo Stadium Complex in Egypt.

The loss of 16-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-21 and 15-12 brought Kenya’s record to one win and two losses to see them finish fourth with three points behind Tunisia, Libya and Ghana in the group.

Although Libya lost their second match to finish with two wins and a loss, they secured a quarter-final ticket as they finished second owing to their superior set ratio of 7-8 against 5-6.

Libya joined the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in qualifying to the quarter-finals on Tuesday, making it six the number teams that had reached the knockout stage.
