Libyan strongman Haftar appears to have regained relations with Syria’s Al-Assad

The commander of Operation Dignity in eastern Libya, Khalifa Haftar, appears to have instructed the government of eastern Libya – Interim Government of Abdullah Al-Thinni – to regains some sort og relations with Syria’s regime led by Bashar Al-Assad.

According to local sources from Benghazi, the Benghazi-based Benina airport, which has been lately reopened, is carrying out flights between Libya and Syria.

Some sources, who refused to be named, said that commercial flights are taking place, at least one so far, between Benghazi and Damascus airports, with different nationals onboard, including Syrians and Libyans.

Earlier in August this year, Benina airport received a cargo flight coming from Damascus airport, according to the sources.
