One fighter killed as Libyan forces toughen siege of IS in Sirte

One fighter from Al-Bunyan Al-Marous forces was killed and other were injured due to heavy clashes with IS militants, who are holding onto their last area in the seaside Jizah neighbourhood, the spokesman of the Misurata Central Hospital, Akram Gliwann said.

He added that the injured people were sent to the Sirte field hospital, as their wounds are slightly dangerous.

Meanwhile, the Misurata-led forces of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous advanced more into the last IS spot in Sirte – the seaside Jizah neighbourhood.

The forces controlled last Sunday new spots and nooks inside Jizah neighbourhood, according to media sources, bringing the total of deaths among their forces to over 4 so far this week and injuries to over 30.

Also on Sunday, The Libyan forces freed 14 civilians from Jizah neighbourhood, where some IS militants are holding out.
