The Peruvian congress initiated the impeachment process to oust the country’s President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski.

The congress, which is controlled by oppositions to Kucznski approved a proposal to begin the impeachment procedure, which made any possible chance for him to survive this political crisis drift out of the window.

This comes due to corruption allegation facing the president, with a Brazilian construction company called Odebrecht revealing payments of $4.8 million to companies owned by Kuczynski or a close friend, setting off calls for him to hand his resignation.

Kuczynski denied any links to the Brazilian company.
