The spokesman of the Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG) Ali Al-Hassi said the PFG forces retook Essidra oil terminal from Dignity Operation, adding that they also retook the residential area in Ras Lanuf – when some sources loyal to PFG said they retook the Ras Lanuf terminal as weel.

Al-Hassi said ferocious clashes took place around the two oil terminals Sunday morning when their forces advanced to recapture the oil terminals they lost control of to Khalifa Haftar’s Dignity Operation forces.

“Dignity Operation warplanes tried to foil our PFG forces’ advance into the Essidra and Ras Lanuf terminals by striking them in the battle scene, yet our PFG forces are now in control of the two key terminals and clashes are still ongoing.” Al-Hassi added.

The PFG forces moved early on Sunday dawn in a bid to retake control of the oil terminals that they lost for Haftar’s forces today last week.

These fresh clashes have been reported to halt the first shipment of oil exportation that was ready to go from Ras Lanuf oil terminal, according to sources from the terminal.

On last Sunday, the Dignity Operation forces attacked the oil crescent region and announced, through the spokesman Ahmed Al-Mismari, that it had taken control of Ras Lanuf, Essidra, Brega, and Al-Zueitina oil ports from the grip of Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG) forces led by Ibrahim Jodran.
