The proposed Defense Minister of the Government of National Acoord, Al-Mahdi Al-Burghathy, has met earlier Wednesday in Tunisia with the Deputy President of the Presidential Council, Fathi Al-Mijibri, along with the UK special envoy to Libya.

Al-Burghathy is now occupying a military post as a commander of 204 tanks brigade in Benghazi, which is one of the brigades under the commandment of the Dignity Operation (Karama) led by Khalifa Haftar.

Moreover, Al-Burghathy was nominated for the defense minister post in the GNA by the PC using the majority voting system, while he was rejected by two of the PC members, Ali Al-Gotrani and Omar Al-Aswad, who are both still boycotting the PC.
