Several Tobruk Parliament MPs are calling for the rule of Military Council

Well-informed sources unveiled that some of Tobruk Parliament members, especially those who back up Dignity Operation (Karama), are constantly pushing for forming a military council to be headed by Khalifa Haftar.

Press Solidarity reported the sources on Wednesday as saying that the call for a military council was based on the continuous failure of the political process in the country, adding that Libya’s crisis has become more complex and hard to solve after the international recognition given in favor for the accord government and failure of Libyan-Libyan dialogue.

A couple of days ago, the UN Security Council reiterated its support for the Libyan national unity government and renewed its call on United Nations Member States to end official contact with parallel institutions that claim legitimate authority but are outside of the 17 December political agreement.
