The Governor of the Tripoli-based Central Bank of Libya, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir said he will remain in office and continue doing economic reforms in the country.

Sl-Kabir, in a meeting in Morocco’s Marrakesh city in a conference for the International Monetary Fund, added that the CBL will remain away from political conflicts as its role is to preserve Libyans’ resources.

The House of Representatives (HoR) in Tobruk appointed a new governor for the CBL Mohammed Al-Shoukri, but Al-Kabir challenged the appointed on grounds that it was done unilaterally by the HoR which is a violation of the Libyan Political Agreement.
