The US special envoy to Libya, Jonathan Winer, has threatened the parallel institutions that are working outside the control of the UN-backed Government of National Accord in Libya with sanctions as per the UN Security Council’s resolution (2259).

Winer tweeted Monday, “Libya has 1 currency, 1 central bank, 1 government, under GNA. Parallel institutions who act out are at risk of sanctions under UNSCR 2259.”
