The World Health Organization has provided Benghazi Blood Bank with 10,000 blood bags to help alleviate the lack of blood among the ongoing heavy clashes in the city.

The UNSMIL explained Wednesday that the blood cargo was brought from Egypt to Benghazi via the land border, then it was put in stocks to be distributed later to the Blood Bank.

Meanwhile, Benghazi mayor, Omer Al-Burasi, denounced earlier the statement made by the UN delegate to Libya, Martin Kobler, where he urged for rescuing the civilians caught up in the last clashes, which actually left a big number of casualties.
