World Health Organization condemns kidnapping of a doctor in Sabha

In a statement today,The World Health Organization (WHO) – country office in Libya, condemned the kidnapping of  a doctor  at the Sabha medical center, demanding “his release immediately”.

The statement posted on the organization’s Facebook page stressed that such attacks weakens health facilities and medical staff efforts to  deliver  health care to civilians in need.

The organization urged everyone to refrain from attacking medical personnel and health facilities, as required by international humanitarian law.
