12 killed from the Libyan forces as they advanced in Dollar Neighbourhood in Sirte
The Libyan forces appointed by the Presidential Council under Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous military operation advanced on Friday into Dollar Neighbourhood in Sirte city center, where ISIS militants are hiding as one of their very few last hideouts.
Clashes raged on Friday between the militants and the Misurata-led forces on many front lines leading to the death of 12 fighters and injury of more than 30 others from the Libyan forces.
In a post on Facebook, Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous media office said the 12 fighters who were killed yesterday were all from Misurata city, except for one, who has not been identified.
An official at the UN-backed Government of National Accord’s military operation, Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous, indicated that it is about less than a couple of days and they will announce the city of Sirte free of ISIS militants.
