Turkey condemns GNC coup on legitimate High Council of State in Tripoli
The Head of the High Council of State (HCS), Abdel Rahman Al-Sweihli, met Wednesday with the Turkish President’s delegate Emrullah İşler accompanied by the Turkish ambassador to Libya.
The meeting was also attended by Al-Sweihli’s deputies Saleh Al-Makhzoum and Mohammed Emazzeb.
Emrullah İşler stressed to the HCS that Turkey opposes the General National Congress’s violation of legitimacy and undermining of the political agreement that resulted in an agreed upon Government of National Accord(GNA).
“Turkey will keep on supporting the GNA and the political agreement signed in Skhirat resort, Morocco last December in order to see peace prevail in Libya.” Emrullah İşler added.
On the Other hand, Al-Sweihli thanked Turkey for its support for peace and stability in Libya, stressing that he and all the HCS members are continuing their jobs by expanding the accord circle to reach all of the Libyan political parties.
