Libyans meet in Ciro, suggest five-point plan to end country’s political stalemate
Libyan representatives from different political parties attended in Egypt a conference on December 12/13 to discuss the Libyan political limbo.
The Libyan stakeholders proposed a five-point plan to end the current stalemate in the country.
These suggestions include the importance of the independence of Libya’s army from any political entity in the country.
The second suggestion was the need for the replacement and reshuffle of representatives inside the Libyan National Dialogue commission in order to include all political factions, and the third suggestion was to specify the role of the army’s commander in chief.
They also proposed the reshuffle of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord and its policy in decision-making.
The conference supported core elements that should be maintained during the transitional period in Libya, including preserving the unity of Libya’s territory and the unity of Libya’s army and police departments.
