Two hijackers of Afriqiyah Airways plane surrender in Malta
The two Libyan nationals who hijacked an Afriqiyah plane en route to Malta have surrendered to the Maltese security, officials said.
The two hijackers have been identified as Ahmed Ali and Musa Shaha, who asked for asylum in Malta once the hijacked plane landed.
The hijackers demanded they be allowed to establish the New Fateh Party, which they said is a re-embodiment of the Gaddafi Fateh Revolution.
One of the two men descended the plane waving the green flag of Gaddafi-ruled Libya.
The 111 passengers and 7 crew members were safe the security personnel told the officials in the Afriqiyah Airways Company.
