Sabha Medical Centre operates by solar power
The head of the media centre of the Sabha Medical Centre, Osama Al-Wafy, said the centre has started operating using the solar power panels that were installed recently by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Libya.
According to Al-Wafy, the centre will see better power status and will have an alternative to electricity in case there happened to be an abrupt outage in critical sections.
The solar power panels project is provided by the UNDP in a bid to help Libyan healthcare centres to operate normally amid the current bad electricity statuses.
The UNDP aims at installing the system in nine Libyan hospitals and medical centres. It did it in Abu Salim hospital in Tripoli and now it has done it in Sabha, with seven other facilities remaining.
