Libyan Prime Minister reprimands intl community for allowing military violence in Libya’s south

Fayez Al-Serraj, the Head of the Presidential Council and Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA) has sent an open letter to the UN Secretary General, Arab League Secretary General, EU High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and others asking them to end the current military violence in southern Libya.
He included in his Saturday letter the fact that the military escalation in southern Libya will only lead to a civil war in Libya as it is targeting the civilians and infrastructure of the region more than any other targets.
He also referred to the need for action by the international community to stop the airstrikes and shelling on the Tamnahent airbase in southern Libya.
This letter came after the recent escalation in the southern region between forces led by Mohamed Ben Nayel, who is backed up by Haftar’s Operation Dignity troops and air force, and the Third Force troops that are appointed by the Defence Ministry of the GNA to protect the south.
