Top Duma official to visit eastern Libya upon HoR Speaker’s invitation
The Russian Izvestia newspaper reported Thursday that the Chief of the Defense Commission at the Russian Duma, Vladimir Shamanov, is going to visit eastern Libyan in the coming few days.
According to the newspaper, Shamanov has been invited by the Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Aqiula Saleh, through the Libyan embassy in Moscow.
The newspaper did not say what the reason of the invitation by the Libyan HoR Speaker was.
Saleh has been to Moscow earlier this year and met with a number of officials to discuss Libya’s current situation.
Meanwhile, the Libyan UN-backed Prime Minister, Fayez Al-Serraj asked Russia to help end Libya’s domestic conflict on Tuesday, when meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov.
