Al-Sweihli demands support for GNA in meeting with Turkish President

Al-Sweihli asked Erdogan for significant support for the HCS and the institutions formed by the Libyan Political Agreement (LPA.)

The Head of the High Council of State of the Government of National Accord (GNA) Abdel Rahman Al-Sweihli met with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Ankara on Friday as part of his formal visit to Turkey.

After discussing the mutual relations between the two countries, Al-Sweihli asked Erdogan for significant support for the HCS and the institutions formed by the Libyan Political Agreement (LPA.)

He also urged the Turkish President to have an active role in weighing in on the Libyan crisis, according to the media bureau of the HCS.

Meanwhile, the Turkish President promised in the meeting to extend more support for the Libyan institutions under the UN-backed LPA and to help Libya build its civilian state.
