Libyan forces kill 15 IS militants as they mobilize fighters for final battle
The member at the media office of the Government of National Accord’s military operation to liberate Sirte from IS terrorists, Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous, Saleh Al-Taweel, said their forces have now surrounded all of the seaside Jizah neighbourhood, leaving IS remaining militants in limbo.
“Now they have to surrender, commit suicide or wait to be killed by our forces.” Al-Taweel said on Tuesday.
He added that 20 buildings inside Jizah neighbourhood were scoured and cleansed.
“15 IS militants, who were hampering the advance of our infantry forces, were killed while the combing through the buildings.” Al-Taweel indicated.
Al-Taweel told the press on Wednesday that Their forces also combed through the lanes and trenches as well as the tunnels made by IS militants in the Jizah besieged area.
He said the advance on the Jizah came from two frontlines and led to the seizure of 50% of the neighbourhood of Jizah, while the forces await fro orders to attack the rest of the area and finish up the remaining IS militants.
