Recordings obtained by Libyan local TV suggest US supporting Haftar’s air force
Al-Nabaa TV has suggested that the US is helping Khalifa Haftar’s Operation Dignity in the war against Benghazi Shura Council fighters in the city as it obtained recordings showing pilots with American accent.
The TV reported that the recordings prove that US pilots are conducting operations related to Operation Dignity’s warplanes in the control tower of Benina airbase in the east, which is controlled by Khalifa Haftar.
The pilots’ communications, released on Tuesday, show the participation of different types of aircraft used for military transport, including suspected US Air Force planes such as the CN-35, according to Al-Nabaa.
It also suggested that the recordings date back to between last June and August with almost 14 flight operations taking place between Haftar-controlled Benina airbase in Benghazi and NATO-controlled airbases in Italy and Greece.
