UN congratulates Libyans on triumph over IS in Sirte

The United Nations and the Untied Nations Mission in Libya congratulated Libyans and the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord on the victory in Sirte over the terrorists of IS.

“It is a huge step forward in the path of freeing Libya from IS terrorism.” The UN described the liberation of Sirte.

The Head of the UNSMIL, Martin Kobler, also said that the liberation of Sirte from IS is going to be of great influence on all of the Libyan people across the country.

“My heart goes for the families of the fighters who were killed in the fight and I hail all of the sacrifices they have made for this victory.” Kobler indicated.

He also urged the Presidential Council to start carrying out a plan to readjust life in Sirte and to help demine the whole city so that the families can return to their houses.
