Misurata Immigration Interception Authority intercepts 250 illegal migrants
The Misurata Immigration Interception Authority announced Wednesday that its guards intercepted 250 illegal immigrants from different African countries in Al-Nahir Road.
The authority added that among the African illegal immigrants, there were 26 women, all ready to start up their journey on shaky boats toward Europe via the Libyan coast.
The Head of the Misurata Immigration Interception Authority, Muhammad Kahoul told the press that the migrants were arrested on Al-Nahir Road preparing for their sea trip to Italy.
The 250 illegal migrants were sent to the shelter centers for the illegal immigrants in the city of Misurata in order to take the necessary measures and legal procedures applicable to them.
Libya has become the favourite destination for a huge number of illegal migrants, especially from Africa, to cross the sea towards Italy and then across Europe as the country is going through chaos and unrest until today.
