Sixteen Egyptian migrants and three Libyan smugglers killed in Bani Walid city, Kobler condemns

On Wednesday, media sources reported that 16 Egyptian nationals and three Libyans were killed in Bani Walid city, exactly at “The River Road”.

The killing incident was triggered by a fight as the Egyptians were illegal immigrants tucked into those three Libyan smugglers’ car heading to an unknown place so they can later set off to Europe from the Libyan shores.

The UN delegate to Libya, Martin Kobler, condemned the incident and called on the local authorities to investigate into the incident and bring the culprits to justice as he said.

However, little is unknown about this terrifying mass death. Social media reported that the fight was actually between the Egyptian migrants and the Libyan smugglers, ending with killing the three Libyans and the escape of the Egyptians, who were later killed by the Libyans’ fellow smugglers on the road as a retaliation act.
