The head of the foreign workers registry in Sabha, Al-Tayeb Sulaiman, disclosed that there are over 50 cases which were found HIV positive when their blood was analyzed as part of the medical procedures done in the city for workers.
Sulaiman told Press Solidarity that the AIDS-positive foreigners were not arrested yet even though the city’s authorities were warned about them, adding that some of them are still working in restaurants and cafes with fake medical certificates.
“We warn that this dangerous disease might be passed to others as the diseased persons have not been arrested yet.” Sulaiman added.
He added that the committee he heads has no authority to arrest the diseased persons, indicating that the situation is really calamitous.
