Crowds of people await at the banks’ doors

The commercial banks in Libya, in general, and in Tripoli, in particular, saw in the last 48 hours very crowded queues of people standing in file to cash out their salaries with the Eid celebration drawing nigh.

Long lines of people stood all day and all night trying to book a spot near the teller hoping that when the bank opens and their turn come up, they will go back home with their salaries or the cash they came to cash out.

This kind of crowdedness comes as normal given the current economic and financial crises Libya is going through, anf given the inaction by the Central Bank of Libya regarding the soaring of prices and inflation, which could result in many families becoming in abject poverty.
