Martin Kobler: Some parties endeavouring to create parallel state institutions in Tripoli
The UN delegate to Libya, Martin Kobler, expressed grave concern over the current situation in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.
During the African Union mini-Summit on Libya, Kobler indicated that there are some political parties trying to create parallel institutions in the capital, which he said would add to the complication of the Libyan political, security and economic deterioration.
“Libya’s status quo is on the line now and any more fragmentation of the country will lead to a never-ending crisis.” Kobler added.
The UNSMIL media center disclosed Thursday that the members of the Libyan Political Dialogue (LPD) will kick off a two-day meeting Thursday.
“The meeting will be aimed at ending the impasse and agreeing on steps towards advancing the implementation of the Libyan Political Agreement (LPA).” The UNSMIL reported.
