Libya records daily natural gas consumption of 1.082 billion cubic feet
Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) has released its latest 24-hour energy consumption figures, showing total natural gas consumption reached 1.082 billion cubic feet during the reporting period.
According to the NOC, the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) accounted for the largest share of demand, consuming 917.19 million cubic feet of natural gas to operate power generation stations. The utility also used 16,617 barrels of crude oil and 9,009 metric tonnes of diesel to support electricity production.
The data showed that cement plants consumed 85.27 million cubic feet of natural gas, while iron and steel factories and other industrial facilities used 73.086 million cubic feet.
Other sectors recorded natural gas consumption of 7.14 million cubic feet over the same 24-hour period, according to the NOC’s daily statistics.
