Conflicting news about capture of key Essidra oil terminal by GNA-backed forces

Sources from the Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG) forces led by Ibrahim Jodran said they, together with the Defence Ministry forces of the Government of National Accord have gained control of the key oil terminal of Essidra and they are moving towards Ras Lanuf.

The forces of the GNA Defence Ministry led by Mahdi Al-Barghtahi, the Defence Minister, formed a coalition with the PFG forces and launched Wednesday morning an attack on Khalifa Haftar’s Operation Dignity forces, which are positioned in the oil crescent region.

Meanwhile, the commander of Benina airbase of Haftar’s forces in Benghazi, Mohammd Manfour, denied the fall of Essidra oil terminal to the attacking forces, describing the attack as “terrorists assault.”.

He added that the Operation Dignity forces are still in control of the whole oil crescent region including Essidra oil terminal.

Sources from the battleground said there were some warplanes bombardments on the areas attacked by the GNA-backed coalition in Ben Jawad and Al-Noufiliya to foil the advance of the forces.

No clear reports about whether there were injuries and deaths or not.
