Ramadan starts in Libya and the Islamic world

The holy month of Ramadan to start Monday in most of the Islamic countries around the world, including Libya. However all these countries must wait until the sunset of Sunday in order to see, whether by the naked eye or by telescopes, the Ramadan Crescent that marks the beginning of the holy month.

Ramadan is a holy month in which all Muslims around the world fast from the sunrise to the sunset as part of the five pillars of Islam. By fasting this long period of time daily around the whole month, Muslims try to get closer to abiding by the Islamic teachings to become closer to Allah. They do that by being so charitable and helpful to others, especially to the needy among their communities alongside fasting from sunrise to sunset.
