Two women die in delivery operation at southern Libyan hospital

A hospital in southern Libya has confirmed that two omen died in delivery process.

According to the hospital, there was no equipment or medics in the hospital for birth operations as the hospital announced shutting down that section months ago after five women had died in the process of giving birth.

“We have contacted the authorities in Libya to help the hospital but in vain.” Said the director of the hospital Abu Bakr Nasser.

Meanwhile, many women organized a sit-in in Hun town in Jufra over death cases in delivery operations and shortly after them. W

The women in the sit-in denounced the double standards in the government treatment especially in healthcare.

They also called for a just investigation by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent as well as other organizations in the incidents of deaths of pregnant women upon delivery operations.5
