Sharara oil field output reaches 63 thousand bod, NOC confirms
The Chairperson of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) Mustafa Sanallah confirmed Friday that the production of the newly reopened Sharara oil field in western Libya reached 63.000 barrels per day (bpd).
“We have not been able to operate and reopen Al-Feel oil field in western Libya as well because the Petroleum Facilities Guard personnel are still in there.” Sanallah indicated.
There are about 15 oil fields out of operations in Libya right now, Sanallah said, adding that they are so because of either lack of security in their areas or because of sabotage and looting that took place recently in their areas.
“We need about 3 billion dollars to do service works in order to be able to reopen those 15 oil fields.” The NOC chief added.
