Libyan forces’s warplane dropped bombs on its own troops, no casualties, official says

The spokesman of the air force emergency room of the UN-backed Government of National Accord’s military operation to free Sirte from IS – Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous – Mohammed Ganunu, said a technical fault in one of the Libyan forces’ warplanes made it drop bombs near its own troops in Sirte, instead of bombing IS locations.
Ganunu told the press that the Libyan forces’ pilot managed to avoid – as possible as he could – to hit his fellow troops and hence the bombs were dropped nearby their locations, leading to some mild injuries and no deaths.
Ganunu added that the Libyan air force of Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous carried out 25 airstrikes from last Friday to Monday this week targeting IS hideouts in its last locations in the city of Sirte.
