US, Algeria discuss Libya’s political stalemate in Algiers

The Algerian Minister for Maghreb Affairs, African Union and the Arab League, Abdelkader Messahel, met Monday with the US ambassador in Algeria Joan A. Polaschik to discuss the situation in Libya.
The US ambassador to Algeria said America welcomes Algeria’s contribution in the settlement of the Libyan crisis, according to the Algerian Foreign Ministry’s statement.
Messahel confirmed last Saturday that Algeria is in contact with all of the Libyan parties in the east, south and west of the country, saying some of the important figures will visit Algeria soon to push more for settlement of the situation.
