Libyan coastguards in cooperation with a Libyan citizen rescued Friday 129 migrants from different African countries off Zuwara shores.
According to the Naval Force’s Spokesman, Ayoub Qassim, all the immigrants were from Gambia and Nigeria.
He added that there were 27 women and two children among them, and they were saved from their dinghy and brought to a shelter place, where they received the needed assistance.

Libya has become the main route for African migrants to cross the sea to Italy and then to other EU countries.
