Death toll of Benghazi double car bombings reached 31

The media office of the Benghazi-based Al-Jalaa Hospital reported that 31 people were killed and over 40 were injured in the twin car bombings that rocked Al-Selmani area in downtown Benghazi on Tuesday.

The car bombs are still of unknown source and motives, according to the Benghazi security enforcement.

The attacks killed among the casualties the Operation Dignity’s senior leader, Ahmed Al-Fitouri, who is known for his zealous Salafist stances.

The Spy Department’s official Mahdi Al-Fellah who is part of Khalifa Haftar’s forces was injured in the attacks.

The car bombings hit a residential area in Al-Selmani last night near Beyat Al-Ridwan mosque as worshipers were coming out of the mosque.
