Libya’s Haftar arrives in Palermo Conference

The commander of the self-proclaimed army in eastern Libya, Khalifa Haftar, has arrived late today in Palermo to attend the Italy-brokered conference to stitch together a fragmented Libya.
Haftar was received by the Italian Prime Minister at the guest reception podium and after a little chat, he went away and refused to enter for a dinner hosted by the PM for all the guest delegations.
Haftar announced on Sunday he would not join the Palermo Conference, citing presence of Qatar and Al-Qaeda-linked groups.
