Libya telecom services resume after sabotage attack​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

The Libyan International Telecommunications Company announced on Saturday that services have been fully restored at the Abu Salim – Km 4 station following what officials described as a “deliberate sabotage attempt” that severely damaged critical infrastructure.

According to an official statement published on the company’s official channels, the telecommunications hub experienced a complete operational shutdown after unknown perpetrators cut power to the facility and damaged backup generator systems, causing widespread service disruptions throughout the area.

Technical teams from the state-owned company, which operates under the Libyan Post, Telecommunications and Information Technology Holding Company, successfully reached the affected station despite security challenges and managed to restore power, bringing all telecommunications services back online.

Authorities have not released information regarding potential suspects or motives behind the attack, and an investigation appears to be ongoing. The incident highlights the ongoing vulnerability of critical infrastructure in the region.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
