Al-Menfi restricts use of VIP lounge at Mitiga Airport

The President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed al-Menfi, has issued strict instructions suspending the use of the presidential lounge at Mitiga International Airport by any party—whether official or otherwise—without prior coordination and formal approval from the Council’s Protocol Department.
In a directive addressed to the Head of the Deterrence Apparatus for Combating Terrorism and Organised Crime, Al-Menfi emphasised that the lounge is a sovereign facility, reserved solely for official functions and accessible only with direct authorisation from the President or via the Protocol Department.
The notice underscored the importance of adhering to these guidelines, warning that any unauthorised or unregulated use of the lounge will be deemed a violation of administrative and procedural rules. It further stressed the need for prior coordination regarding any future arrangements involving the reception of guests.
