Election offices torched in Al-Zawiya, Al-Ajaylat

The High National Elections Commission has confirmed that the fires which broke out early Friday morning at its branch offices in Al-Zawiya and Al-Ajaylat were the result of deliberate arson.

In an official statement, the Commission strongly condemned what it described as “criminal assaults” on both facilities, stressing that such acts represent a “blatant attack on the electoral process” and a “calculated attempt to deprive citizens of their legitimate rights.”

“We will not waver in fulfilling our national duty despite these attempts to obstruct the democratic path,” the statement read.

The Commission also urged security agencies to “shoulder their responsibilities by tracking down the perpetrators of these crimes” and to take all necessary measures to safeguard electoral operations across the country.
