Khoury and Qatari envoy review Libya’s political track

Stephanie Khoury, Deputy Special Representative for Political Affairs at the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), has held talks with Khalid Mohammed bin Zaben Al-Dosari, focusing on the latest political developments in Libya and ongoing international efforts to support stability.
The discussions centred on the role of the United Nations in advancing Libya’s political process, with an emphasis on encouraging dialogue and fostering conditions conducive to a comprehensive national settlement.
During the meeting, the Qatari ambassador reaffirmed his country’s support for dialogue among Libyan parties, describing it as the most effective means of overcoming divisions, rejecting violence and achieving national consensus.
He also reiterated Qatar’s commitment to backing the Libyan political process, relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, and all peaceful initiatives aimed at preserving Libya’s unity, stability and sovereignty.
The ambassador stressed that such efforts should ultimately meet the aspirations of the Libyan people for development and prosperity, culminating in the organisation of free and fair elections.
