Sebha University signs British Council deal

Sebha University partners with British Council to expand global exam programmes

Sebha University has signed a cooperation agreement with the British Council aimed at strengthening and delivering international examination programmes, as part of its broader strategy to enhance academic openness and achieve excellence at local, regional and global levels.

In a statement, the university said the agreement aligns with its vision of leadership in education, scientific research and community service. It also reflects a commitment to building effective partnerships with international institutions, with the goal of preparing qualified graduates capable of meeting the demands of a rapidly evolving global landscape.

The partnership is expected to contribute to the development of language education at the university, while opening wider opportunities for students to obtain internationally recognised qualifications. Officials said this would enhance both academic prospects and future employability.

The agreement was signed following a visit by an academic delegation from the university’s Language Centre, which held meetings with the British Council’s management team, including its newly appointed director and assistant, as well as the head of examinations and the examinations coordinator.

Both sides agreed to collaborate on organising and delivering globally accredited examinations, beginning with the launch of the Aptis test. The programme will be administered by Sebha University’s Language Centre, which will oversee its implementation and examination sessions.
