Libya and Italy discuss cooperation on bone marrow transplantation
Libya and Italy have discussed expanding cooperation on bone marrow transplantation and strengthening training programmes for Libyan medical personnel, the Libyan Ministry of Health said.
The talks were held in Rome between Libya’s Health Minister Mohamed Ali Al-Ghouj and his Italian counterpart, Orazio Schillaci, and focused on using Italian expertise to support the development of healthcare services in Libya.
According to the ministry, the two sides explored ways to deepen partnerships between Libyan and Italian healthcare institutions and improve the quality of medical services.
They also discussed mechanisms for activating existing bilateral agreements and expanding cooperation in other areas of healthcare.
The ministers stressed the importance of maintaining coordination and establishing practical arrangements to follow up on the implementation of agreed programmes.
The ministry said the meeting formed part of its efforts to expand international partnerships and draw on successful international expertise in developing Libya’s healthcare sector.
