Abdul Monem Al-Marimi’s funeral delayed pending review

Family calls for independent probe, funeral put on hold

The family of the late Abdul Monem Al-Marimi has announced the postponement of the funeral prayer to Sunday, 6 July 2025.

The decision was made to allow for a detailed forensic examination of the body, to be carried out under the supervision of an independent and neutral authority, with the aim of establishing the precise cause of death and clarifying the surrounding circumstances.

According to sources close to the family, the move comes in response to questions and uncertainty regarding the incident, which prompted the family to seek a clearer understanding before proceeding with the final rites.

The family stated that the decision reflects a desire to ensure transparency and to uphold the dignity of the deceased, as well as their right to know the full facts. They emphasised that the postponement is a precautionary measure, taken in good faith, to avoid speculation and to ensure that all proceedings are based on verified information.

Further details are expected to follow once the examination has been completed and the findings reviewed.
