Ahli Tripoli seal spot in Caf Confederation Cup semi-finals

Al Ahli Tripoli edged out Al Ittihad by a solitary goal in a closely contested Libyan derby on Sunday to progress to the semi-final of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup

Ahli Tripoli is through to the African Confederation Cup semi-finals after defeating Al-Ittihad 1-0 at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in the second leg of the quarter-finals on Sunday.

The two teams ended the first leg match with a 0-0 draw before Ahli beat Al-Ittihad in the return game thanks to Ayoub Ayyad’s strike in the 19th minute of the first half.

Ahli will play the South African Orlando Pirates, who advanced to the semi-finals after beating the Tanzanian Simba in the away game. The match was decided on penalty kicks which they won by 4-3.
