Al-Baour stresses Libya’s support for Arab causes

The Acting Foreign Minister, Tahir Al-Baour, has underlined Libya’s keenness to continue working within the framework of joint Arab action and to support all efforts that strengthen Arab unity and serve the causes of the Arab nation.
His remarks came on Thursday during the 164th session of the Arab League Council at ministerial level, held at the organisation’s headquarters in Cairo.
During the meeting, Arab foreign ministers discussed a number of key issues, foremost among them the latest developments regarding the Palestinian cause. They stressed the need to intensify diplomatic efforts for the recognition of a Palestinian state and to halt the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, as well as reaffirming support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people.
The discussions also covered the latest developments in the Arab region and practical mechanisms for addressing current regional challenges, in a way that would strengthen Arab national security and safeguard common strategic interests.
